ELWARD ANDERSON

Elward L. Anderson, of Neenah, age 88, passed away on Friday, February 2, 2018.  He was born, January 12, 1930, son of the late Orell and Dorothy (Luebke) Anderson.  Elward graduated from Neenah High School and St. Olaf College. 

Elward married Hazel Johnsrud of Door County on September 12, 1953.  She survives him.  They made their home in Neenah, where they raised their two sons: Sam (Sarah) of Bloomfield, CO, and Andy (Paula) of Deephaven, MN.  Elward has six grandchildren: Matthew (Elyse), David and Mike, all of CO, Meghan, of CO, and Eric and Maria, of MN.  He also has two great-grandchildren: Owen and Emma, of CO.

Elward is further survived by two sisters-in-law: Kiki Anderson, of WA, and Nedra Johnsrud, of Door County; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by a sister, Ardys (Frank) Nault; a brother, Dallas Anderson; brother-in-law, Arnold Johnsrud; and a sister-in-law, Connie (Peary) Anderson.

Elward loved music, loved to sing and he was a member of several church choirs over the years.  He worked as a building contractor for most of his life and could point with pride to countless local houses he had built or helped to build, or remodel or repair.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 6, 2018, at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home with Pastor Jon Gallatin officiating.  The visitation will be held from 9:30 AM until the hour of service.  A lunch will follow the service.  In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established.

With a deep sense of gratitude Elward's family wants to thank the staff at Atrium, where he was fondly called “Eddy” by one of his favorite gals there, for the care and kindness shown to him for nearly five years.

We also want to thank the First Responders, ER staff, and ICU staff at ThedaCare Neenah, for their compassion and kindness in guiding Elward through the final hours of his life.
