VICTOR WINKENWERDER

Victor A. Winkenwerder, age 92 of Neenah, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, March 16, 2010. He was born March 9, 1918 to the late Clara and Frank Winkenwerder in Hortonville, WI. On October 24, 1941, he married Elsie Emily Krueger. Together they were Fox Valley residents since 1940. Victor will always be remembered as a wonderful, kind and loving father and grandfather. He was noble, heroic, and a true gentleman. During WWII, Victor served five years in Europe and was awarded the Silver Star. After the war, he became the successful business owner of Monray Foods in Neenah. Victor is survived by two daughters: Elaine (Vernon) Hicks of Appleton and Donna (Rojer) Moder of Neenah; two grandsons: Graham (Becky) French and Wade Moder and his fiance Alicia Engel; and two great-grandchildren: Elizabeth and Spencer French. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Elsie Emily; brothers: Wilbur and Leroy; and a sister: Carol. The Funeral Service for Victor will be held on Friday, March 19, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Neenah, with Military Honors to follow. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service. Entombment will be at Highland Memorial Park. Victors family would like to give a special thanks to his friends and the staff at the VNA for their kind and loving care. Thanks also to Dr. Okundaye, the nurses on 5 South of Theda Clark, and to Victors therapist Katy Leder for all of their compassion.
