RAYMOND WENDT

Raymond O. Wendt, age 91 of Appleton, passed away on Saturday, March 20, 2010. He was born February 20, 1919 to the late William and Anna (Rusch) Wendt in Owen, WI. On August 18, 1951, Raymond married Elizabeth Polchert. Raymond was a proud veteran of the Navy and enjoyed communicating with others via HAM Radio under call-sign W9HRD. He also enjoyed camping trips with his family and taking his little dog Mitzy on walks around his neighborhood on the east-side of Appleton where he lived for forty-five years. Raymond is survived by three sons: John (Kathryn) Wendt, Stephen (Christine) Wendt, and James Wendt; six grandchildren: Elizabeth, Matthew, Peter, Joseph, Ramsey, and Harper; a brother: Cecil (Karen); and one sister: Helen Anderson. He was preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Elizabeth in 1989; a grandson Marcus; and eight brothers and sisters. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at 12:00 P.M. at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Freedom with Father David Hoffman officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of mass. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Neenah. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the St. Nicholas Tuition Assistance Fund can be made in Raymonds name.
