HELEN OTTO

Helen J. Otto, age 89, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 26, 2009 at her home. She was born on May 12, 1920 and raised near Hurley, Wisconsin; daughter of the late William Jack and Jane Helen (Williams) Truan. On June 21, 1947 she married R. George Otto in Hurley; the union was blessed with two daughters and 51 wonderful years before he preceded her in death on February 12, 1999. Helen was a very nurturing woman who gave her all to her family, never turned away a stranger, and never muttered a harsh word about anybody. She was a long-time faithful member of First United Methodist Church of Neenah/Menasha, and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for most of her adult life. She will be sadly missed by her daughters: Jane A. (Jim) Schroeder, Jacksonville, FL, Mary E. (Jimmy) Dwyer, Sanford, FL; grandchildren: Sarah J. Bretall, Neenah, Melissa J. (Jeffrey) Scott, Mariah (Cory) Waldrun, Jamie C. (Brenda) Dahl, all of Florida; and 6 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her loving husband, Helen was preceded in death by her brother Jack W. Truan. The Funeral Service for Helen will be held on Friday, October 2, 2009, 1:00 P.M. at Neenahs Westgor Funeral Home with Rev. Robert B. Hays officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 12:00 Noon until the hour of service. Helen will be laid to rest next to George in Neenahs Oak Hill Cemetery immediately to follow.
