JANE BLOCK

Jane E. Block, age 86 of Neenah, passed away Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at Oakridge Gardens. She was born March 17, 1928 to the late Chris and Bessie Steinfort in Neenah, and married John Block on May 27, 1950. He preceded her in death in 2003. Jane was a Neenah High School graduate and a member of St. Thomas church in Menasha. In her younger years, Jane was a golfer and always liked camping at Little Silver Lake. She was a great sports enthusiast who loved the Packers. She also loved playing Bridge and Sheephead and enjoyed her shopping and lunch dates with the ladies of her life. She was an avid reader and spent many hours reading on the swing on her deck, and absolutely adored her five great-grandchildren. Jane will be missed by her children: John (fiancée Linda Gunderson) Block; Nancy (Jack) Dombeck; Todd Block; and Kim (John) Van Rooy; her grandchildren: Brooke (John) Hintze; Lindsay (Steve) Aykens; Abby (Drew) Seveland; Shelley (Jon) Ropella; Ted Block; Tim (Crystal) Frey; Andy (fiancée Michelle Fischer) Frey; great-grandchildren: Hunter Hintze; Jack, Charlie, and Henry Aykens; and Jocelyn Frey. She is further survived by her sister, Audrey Cannon; brother, Tom Steinfort; and sisters-in-law: Bernice Parrott; and Mary Steinfort. She was preceded in death by her brothers: Don Steinfort and Jerome "Bud" Steinfort as well as her in-laws, Samuel Cannon and Carol Steinfort. The funeral service for Jane will be held at 12:00 NOON on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at St. Thomas Church, 226 Washington St., Menasha, Fr. Ralph Osborne officiating. A visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service. She will join her husband John in interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in her name. Jane's family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff and nurses of Oakridge Gardens for their care and compassion throughout her short stay.
