RICHARD RAYMOND

Richard Dick Raymond, 73, of Neenah, passed away Sunday, May 10, 2009, at Bethel Home in Oshkosh. He was born August 22, 1935, in Beloit, WI; the son of Lawrence and Delorus (Howell) Raymond. Dick attended UW Madison and graduated from the New York State University at Syracuse with a degree in paper chemistry. He was united in marriage to Nancy L. Lawrence on June 25, 1960, in Milwaukee. The Raymonds lived in the upper peninsula of Michigan where Dick was employed, before they moved to Neenah in 1975. He was employed with Appleton Paper and retired in 1990. Dick was a very creative man. He was an amateur photographer and enjoyed watercolor painting. He had a love of trains, model trains, and steam engines. Dick coached Little League baseball, liked to fish, play golf, and was a bridge player with Nancy in bridge club. Dick had a passion for barbershop chorus singing, and was a member of the Fox Valleyaires for many years. He was formerly vice-president of the St. Timothy Lutheran Church Council, Menasha. Dick dearly loved his family; wife Nancy, and sons, Daniel and Robert. Survivors include his beloved wife, Nancy; his sons: Daniel Raymond, Port Washington, and Robert (Grace) Raymond, St. Paul, MN., and their children: Michael and Mara; a sister, Mary Ann (Louis) Dennis, Paxton, MA; and sisters-in-law: Colleen (Terry) Schuh, Chandler, AZ, and Natalie (Bill) Alexander, Wales, WI.; and nieces and nephews: Louis III (Michelle), Kathy (John), Kristen (Kit), Michael (Arin), and Karen (Jerry). He was preceded in death by his parents and his mother and father-in-law, Fred and Alice Lawrence. The Funeral Service for Dick will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2009, 4:00 PM at Neenahs Westgor Funeral Home with Rev. James Plymire officiating. Visitation will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday at the funeral home until the hour of service. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Neenah. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Richards honor may be sent to the Greater Wisconsin Alzheimers Association, 2900 Curry Lane, Suite A, Green Bay, WI, 54311, for Alzheimers research.
