MICHAELENE RYDER

Michaelene Mikie Ryder of Menasha, WI, received her wings on Friday, November 16, 2012, at St. Elizabeths Hospital in Appleton. She was 57 years old. Daughter of Irene and Anthony Porto, Mikies warm smile and infectious laughter were well known by those she loved and by those she met- even briefly. She could often be found behind her desk in the front office of Lauers Skid & Pallet Service, telling humorous stories and filling the world with sunshine. A simple person who enjoyed gardening and watching classic movies in her spare time, Mikie was truly one of a kind. Through many bumps along her road, her strength endured and her kindness never faltered. Most of all, she loved and was loved greatly in return. We will remember her always. Mikie is survived by her children, Shaun (Katya) Ryder, and Kelly (Jason) Stoll; her significant other, Jim Bascombe; her sisters and brothers- Edith (Ken) Dickrell, Martin Porto (and special friend Judy), George (Barb) Porto; Ceal (Jim) Tesch, brother-in-law Greg Lauer and her co-conspirator in life, Charlotte Olson. She will continue to be loved additionally by her many nieces, nephews, god children, Aunts, Uncles, cousins, additional family and friends. She is preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Porto and Toni Lauer, brothers, Jeff and Greg Porto, parents- Irene and Anthony Porto and sister-in-laws, Jo and Loretta Porto. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at 7:00 P.M. at Menashas Westgor Funeral Home, Rev. Lynne Spencer-Smith officiating. Friends may gather from 4:00 P.M. until the hour of the service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her name.
