GILBERT STIELOW

Gilbert H. Stielow, of Appleton, age 97, died Monday, February 2, 2009, at Theda Clark Medical Center. He was born March 7, 1911 in Neenah; son of the late Charles and Anna (Luedke) Stielow. Gilbert married Mary McKellips on November 19, 1932 in Mosinee, WI. They celebrated 76 years of marriage together. She preceded him in death on December 14, 2008. Gilbert was employed with Banta Publishing Co. for 47 years until his retirement. He then enjoyed spending his winters in Florida. Gilbert also liked playing cribbage and watching golf and football. He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church of Neenah. Survivors include his daughter, Beth Ann (David) Malchow, Neenah; three sons: Gilbert (Marian) Stielow, Houston, TX, Richard (Janet) Stielow, Neenah, Michael (Gloria) Stielow, Winneconne; 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Peter; two sisters and a brother. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2009, 12:00 Noon, at the Faith United Methodist Church, 1025 Tullar Rd, Neenah, with The Rev. Mary Council-Austin officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established in his name for the church. The family would like to thank the 2nd floor nurses of Theda Clark and Palliative Medicine Services for all their care and concern.
