MARIETTA BRIGHUM

Marietta D. Brighum, age 90 of Neenah, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 with her family by her side. She was born in Waupaca on December 16, 1924 to the late Frank and Laura (Faulks) Dumbleton. On January 19, 1944, she married Gordon Brighum. Marietta was a very strong woman, having been a breast cancer survivor of many years. She and Gordon were members of the Merry Makers dance group where they had many good times and made many good friends. The two often spent time at their cottage in Iola, and enjoyed many winters in Florida. Marietta and Gordon have been longtime members of Faith United Methodist Church in Neenah. Marietta is survived by her husband of 70 years, Gordon; her son, Gary (Peggy) Brighum, Neenah; her special niece, Darlene (Jerry) Burkot, Exeland, WI; grandchildren: Jeff (Daphne) Brighum, De Pere; Dan (Amy) Brighum, Menasha; Krissy (Sean) Ely, Cumming, GA; Steven (Jill) Getlinger, Neenah; Brian (Linda) Getlinger, Neenah; Mike (Kim), Billings, MT; Chad Getlinger, Neenah; and 11 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her son-in-law, LaLester (Lori) Getlinger, Neenah; nephew, Harold "Junior" (Vivian) Schmidt, Neenah; niece, Sandy (Bob) Chady, Exeland; brother-in-law, Kenny (Millie) Brighum; as well and many other nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Jane Getlinger; two brothers, and one sister. The Funeral Service for Marietta will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, December 22, 2014 at Faith United Methodist Church, 1025 Tullar Rd., Neenah, Rev. Tim Albrecht officiating. The visitation will take place at church from 9:30 A.M. until the hour of service. Interment will take place in Lakeside Cemetery, Waupaca. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established. The family would like to thank ThedaCare at Home Hospice, Right at Home, and Cherry Meadows for all their care and concern they showed Marietta and her family.
