Obituary

Robert K. Bob Shaw, Sherwood, Age 67, died peacefully at his home during the evening of February 20, 2009, surrounded by his wife, Jane, and his family, following a short and difficult battle with cancer. Bob was born on June 23, 1941 in Manitowoc, son of the late Clayton and Phyllis (Sohrweide) Shaw. He graduated from Manitowoc Lincoln High School, class of 1959. Bob attended the University of Michigan for 2 years. On January 20, 1962, Bob was married his wife of 47 years, Jane Olson. Moving to Milwaukee, Bob continued his education at UW-Milwaukee and Marquette University. He began his business career starting as a draftsman, moving up to Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Lakeside Bridge and Steel Co. in Milwaukee. For several years Bob worked at Bay Ship Building in Sturgeon Bay as Project Manager. In 1993, along with his son, Scott and friend, Darrel Graf, he started Great Lakes Testing Inc. in Green Bay. Bob was interested in all sports and spending the summer up north in Townsend, WI. He also began the hobby of building model trains. His greatest pleasure, however, came from spending time with his family and his precious grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by his wife, Jane; his sons and their families: Mark (Andrea) Shaw and granddaughter, Samantha, North Little Rock, AR, Scott (Martha) Shaw and grandson and granddaughter, Josey and Carly, Neenah, Rob (Cindy) Shaw and step-grandsons, Josh and Jeremy Remme, State of Washington. Bob is further survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law, many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Bruce Shaw. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2009, 6:30 PM, at Neenahs Westgor Funeral Home. The visitation will be held on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until the hour of service. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established at the Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic of Green Bay. The family would like to thank Dr.s Patel and Davis and the entire Oncology staff at the Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic. Thank you also to Dr. Mendoza and Jared Hocking PA of Bay Care Clinic and Pulmonary Medicine, and the staff of Heartland Home Health and Hospice Services.

Bob (Bapa, to us kids) was my grandfather. I love him very much & will miss him more each day. He truly was an incredible man. I want to thank everyone who worked around the clock to ensure my grandfather was kept comfortable and at peace in his final hours. I love my family very much, and we all appreciate the love and support from all in these difficult times. Again, I love you Bapa. It'll be hard to find a greater cribbage partner than you.

My heartfelt sympathy to all of Bob's Family and especially to Jane (Janey) for your great loss. The only blessing greater than our love of the blessing of life God has given each of us is the blessing of the love we experience from and for family and friends. Bob is blessed. I hope it is for you as it is for me---the memories will always linger on. May God bless you all in your time of sorrow.
