FERN STEELE

Fern Jeanette Steele, age 87, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 16, 2010 at Theda Clark Medical Center, following a lengthy illness with her family at her side. She was born on October 17, 1922 in Dorchester, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Edwin and Ottillia (Hurtienne) Holtz. She graduated from Medford High School. Fern was married and widowed three times; first to Vincent Storch, second to Ray Krutz, and lastly to Earl Steele. Fern was an optimistic woman with a great sense of humor. She was a loving mother and grandmother, who loved to spoil her grandchildren with M&Ms and other candies. She enjoyed playing cards, going to the casinos, and horse racing. Fern was also an avid Packer fan. She will be sadly missed by her daughter: Rita (Bob) Schneeberger, Middleton; her sons: Gary (Cindy) Storch, Menasha, Bruce (Jean) Storch, Appleton, Lee (Jill) Storch, Neenah, Dene (Jeanne) Storch, Neenah, Gene Storch, Neenah, Buzz (Lisa) Storch, Neenah, Scott Storch, Neenah; grandchildren: Ed (Jen) Klapps, Kim Albers, Jodie (Dan) Weller, Renee Fransway, Cheyanne Storch, Amy (Dave) Stover, Mark Schneeberger (sp. Friend Samantha Halvorson), Kevin and Heidi Storch, Andrea (Ryan) McKenna, Brian Mueller, Katie Storch (Fiance Jake Deitz), Sara Storch (Fiance Pierre Gallant), Dan (Sandy) Storch (and expected child), Kerri Storch, Brandon and Derek Storch; 9 great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and her three husbands, she was preceded in death by her three sisters: Lavera Brehm, Berdell Jadack, Lila Mae Holtz. The memorial service for Fern will be held on Thursday, May 20, 2010 at 7:00 P.M. at Neenahs Westgor Funeral Home. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 4:00 P.M. until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the American Lung Association. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of Theda Clark 5th floor, and the staff of ThedaCare at Home Hospice for all of their exceptional care.
