ILA ARNDT

Ila Frances (nee Martin) Arndt, 87, peacefully passed away April 16, 2013 with family by her bedside. She was a Baraboo High School graduate and earned a degree as a Registered Nurse from Milwaukee County General Hospital School of Nursing. Ila was an integral part of a psychiatric practice ran by her husband, George W. Arndt, M.D. for 40 years until his death in 1997. Ila and George were well known in local and national politics. Survivors include her children Julie (James) Meinke (WI), their 4 children and 4 grandchildren; George (Jacqueline) Arndt, Jr (MI), their 4 children and 6 grandchildren; Susan (Randel) Torfin (VA), their 4 children and 1 grandchild; Charles (Patricia) Arndt (WI), their 2 children and 2 grandchildren (with another on the way); sister Louise Briggs (FL); and goddaughter Karen Smoller (WI) and 2 children. Ila was preceded in death by her husband, son Frederick, and sister Dorothy Larson. The funeral service for Ila will be held at 11:30 A.M., Saturday, April 27, 2013 at First Presbyterian Church, 200 Church St., Neenah. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
