ELLA ACHTER

Marie Achter, age 96, formerly of Neenah, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Parkview Health Center with her family by her side. She was born March 15, 1917 in Deer Creek, Wisconsin. Marie was a Fox Valley resident for most of her life. She was married to Joseph Achter on June 14, 1949 in Clintonville, WI. Marie was a Girl Scout Leader for 22 years and a Cub Scout Leader. She was also a volunteer for several years with the Neenah Blood Bank and was a member of St. Gabriels Catholic Church where she gave her time to various church and school committees. Marie is survived by her children: Jeanne (Douglas) Foley; Bruce (Julie) Achter; and Debbie (Scott) Swanson; and her grandchild, Emily Achter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; her parents, Louis and Cora; and her sisters: Angarose (Chris) Peeters; Dorothy (Ed) Rhode; and Florence (Claude) Suprise. The funeral service for Marie will be held at 4:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, Fr. Larry Seidl officiating. Visitation will be at church from 3:00 P.M. until the hour of service. Entombment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Shrine of Heaven. Maries family would like to extend their appreciation toward the caring Parkview Health Center staff and ThedaCare at Home Hospice team for their care and compassion.
