FRANCES CASPERSON

Frances E. Casperson, age 103 of Neenah, passed away Wednesday, January 12, 2011. She resided at Pleasant Acres Park View Health Center in Oshkosh in recent years. She was born May 4, 1907 to the late Walter and Mary (Boettcher) Jackson in Medford, WI. On August 21, 1933 in Oshkosh, she married Harold Casperson, whom she met on the tennis courts in Neenah. He preceded her in death in 1986, after 53 years of marriage. Frances was a 1925 graduate of Abbotsford High School and played center position on her high school basketball team. She also played the violin in the school symphony. After high school, Frances attended Marian Harland Beauty School in Milwaukee. She then opened a beauty shop in Abbotsford in 1930, only to subsequently open Rose Leaf Beauty Shop on Wisconsin Avenue in Neenah, with her sister Katherine Olson. Frances was a member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church for many years while she was living in Neenah. Frances is survived by her daughter, Carol (Bill) Losse; 3 grandchildren: Elizabeth (James) German, Cincinnati, OH; Stephen (Martha) Willing, Pittsburgh, PA; Bill (Andrea) Willing, Hartville, OH; 5 great-grandchildren: Sean, Daniel and Samantha Willing; and Walter and Jack German; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her siblings: Katherine Olson; Miles Jackson; and Otto Jackson. A memorial service for Frances will be held in the spring.
