DOLORES LABELLE

Dolores L. La Belle, age 78, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 13, 2011 at St. Elizabeth Hospital. She was born on April 19, 1932 in New Haven, CT, daughter of the late George and Aurora (Charbonneau) Hawley. On September 6, 1947 she married Carl W. La Belle in Elkton, MD, and their marriage of 63 years was blessed with seven children, 9 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren. Dolores was a very caring, nurturing woman who after raising her own children provided in-home care for those in need for twenty years until her husband fell ill, and lovingly became his caregiver for the last 14 years. She had a green thumb and loved gardening, playing Bingo, trips to Oneida to visit her friends, playing Euchre and other card games, and reading. More than anything, Dolores was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and respected friend. She will be sadly missed by her loving husband, Carl; her sons: Thom (Karen), Pensacola, FL, Stan, Santa Fe, NM, Jerry (Candee), Waupaca her daughters: Pamela Nickolas, Kimberly, Carol (Tom) La Belle-Propst, Johnstown, CO, Brenda Martin, Ogden, UT; grandchildren: Angela (Mate) Hendricks, Kerri (Bobby) Smith, Julie (Andy) Riel, Matthew La Belle, Jessica (John) Heath, Erik Ducklow, Nick (Alicia) Ducklow, Shannon (Aaron) Cameron, Bryan Martin; great-grandchildren: Kristopher, Weston, Bryson, Anthony, Jaden; her sister Barbara Belchak, Plainfield, IL; her dear friend and Bingo Buddy , Shirley Wolfe, and special friend Carol Miller; as well as several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Wayne; daughter-in-law, Susan LaBelle; son-in-law, Nick Nickolas, three siblings, and many brothers and sisters-in-law. The Memorial Service for Dolores will be held on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Neenahs Westgor Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Huff officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
