GERALD ALL

All, Gerald E., age 81, passed away peacefully January 14, 2011 at Cherry Meadows after many years of ill health. Jerry was born on July 7, 1929 in Reedsburg, Wisconsin to Lawrence and Marguerite (Sandmire) All. Jerry was raised in the Waupun/Fox Lake/Oakfield area. He joined the navy at the age of 16 and served with the Seabees from 1946 -1950. He was awarded his high school diploma from Waupun High School in June 2002. He moved to Appleton as a young man. He married Carole (Cuddy) Wilson on June 20, 1959 at the old Congregation Church on Broad Street in Menasha. As a young man he enjoyed down-hill skiing, golf, fishing, archery and was especially talented at fixing cars and almost anything in the home that needed repairing. For several years he owned an auto body shop in Combined Locks where he did the finest work. He retired from Asten-Johnson (formerly Wisconsin Wire Works) in 1992 after 23 years. He was an excellent cook and especially loved to grill. He enjoyed his many years of membership in the Papa Charlie CB radio club and in later years belonging to the Valley Aero Modelers Airplane Club, which he served as Treasurer at one time. He loved building and flying the planes and especially the camaraderie of the club. He enjoyed working on many of the auctions that the club held. He loved playing card games of any kind, but especially sheepshead. In the last few years it was Sequence (states and capitals). Jerry was a very loving son, husband, father and brother. He was especially friendly and could strike up a conversation in a crowd of strangers, wave to people he didnt even know and say hello or good morning to everyone that would pass him on the street or in the hall. If you ever needed help with anything, he was always ready to give a hand. Jerry suffered many years of illness and pain but never complained or asked for help unless he was really desperate. If you asked him how he was, he would always say pretty good . He is survived by his wife Carole; his three sons who he loved so dearly and was so very proud of: Steven (Susan), Neenah; Randy (Joanna), Jackson; and Michael, Milwaukee. He is also survived by his grandson, Greg; granddaughter, Amber; step grandson, Jacob Amundson; and great-granddaughter, Jordaine; his sisters: Arlene Smolen; Shirley (Merlin) Tolsma; Patricia (Ardie) Wiersma; Nancy (Larry) Engel and Anita Miller; sisters-in-law: Sharon Zanders-Osenroth; Eunice Wilson; Ellen Wilson; and Sandra Wilson; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; in-laws: Edward and Bernice Wilson; sister, Betty Posthuma and her husband Jacob; and brothers-in-law: Gene; Les; and Roy Wilson; and Bob Smolen; Ray Miller; John Zanders; and Ted Osenroth Jerry was a member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Menasha for over 30 years and served on many committees over the years. His memorial service will be held on Monday, January 17, 2011 at 11:00 am at St. Timothy Lutheran Church, Rev. David J. Skarsten officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until the hour of service. The family wishes to thank the Neenah staff of the Fresenius Dialysis Center, Dr. Riess-Sagers, Dr. Qureshi, Dr. Michael Johnson of Primary Care and his nursing staff, especially Cindy and Randi, and the many doctors that have cared for Jerry over the years and have been so kind. Memorials in Jerrys name may be made to St. Timothy Lutheran Church or your nearest humane society.
