KATHLEEN RIVET

Kathy L. Rivet, age 59, of Neenah, was released into Gods care on Wednesday, January 19, 2011, at Theda Clark Medical Center, surrounded by her family and friends. Kathy fought a positive and inspirational battle with cancer. Kathy was born September 30, 1951, in Neenah, the daughter of Betty Wohlers Bero, Waupaca, and the late Hubert Wohlers. She was a graduate of Neenah High School, class of 1969. On April 11, 1975, she was united in marriage to Robert Bob T. Rivet at St. Marks Lutheran Church, Neenah. Kathleen was employed with Werner Electric Company for 40 years where she was the benefits coordinator for human resources. The Rivets have been members of St. Marks Lutheran Church for many years; Kathy was in their choir and bell choir, was faithfully dedicated and active in numerous church functions. She played trumpet in the New Horizons Band at Lawrence University and also played in the Neenah City Band. Kathy was a Boy Scout leader of Troop 81, Neenah, and never missed her kids sporting events. She loved going to the Appleton Farmers Market on Saturdays with her kids in the summertime and going to craft fairs. Kathys family and friends were the most important aspects of her life and through her strength she offered grace and compassion to all. Her positive attitude and infectious smile brought joy and comfort to all who knew her. Survivors include her loving husband, Bob; her mother, Betty (Bill) Bero, Waupaca; her daughter, Erin Rivet, Neenah; her son, Brian (Mary) Rivet, Wausau; her sister, Debbie (Ike) Andrews, Spokane, WA; her brothers, Mike (Chris) Wohlers, Winchester, and Mark (Carol) Wohlers, Appleton; her nieces: Holly (Nick Sommer) Wohlers, Alicia (Owen Bunney) Andrews, Kimberly (Tony) Schakel, Emily Andrews, and Audrey Murphy (son, Demitri); her nephews, Kevin (Tanya) Wohlers, Zachary Andrews, and Alex (Natalie Nofke) Murphy; her godmother, Irene Kuepper; the extended Bero family; and her furry companions, Corby and Meeko. She was preceded in death by her father, Hubert. A Memorial Service celebrating Kathys life will be held Saturday, January 22, 2011, 11:00 a.m., at St. Marks Lutheran Church, 140 So. Green Bay Rd., Neenah, with Rev. Stephen Dietzler officiating. The visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. Saturday at the church until the hour of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. Marks Lutheran Church and the Boy Scouts of America, both in care of 140 So. Green Bay Rd., Neenah, 54956. The family extends a special thanks to the staff in the ICU at Theda Clark and the team at Froedtert Cancer Center for their exceptional and compassionate care given to Kathy.
