JAMES KAUFMAN

Jim Lyle Kaufman, age 47, of Oshkosh, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on March 7, 2009. He was born May 17, 1961 in Appleton; the son of John (Jack) and Joyce (Mangan) Kaufman. Jim attended Appleton East High School, where he played football and was a member of the class of 1979. He was a CNA for twenty years at the Winnebago Mental Health Institute. Jim was a big crossword puzzle and country western music lover. He was a gentle, kind man and a wonderful help to his mother. He is lovingly survived by his mother, Joyce; and his brothers and sister: John (Louise) Kaufman of Hartland, Tom (Kay) Kaufman of Milwaukee, Roger of Lake Mills and Carrie (Jeff) Kippenhan of Neenah. He will also be missed by his nephews: Kevin and Cody Kippenhan, Steven, Aaron and Joe Kaufman, and Jorge Valdivieso; his nieces: Rachel, Sara and Heidi Kaufman, and Shannon Quinn; and his great nieces: Araeah Collins and Mercedes Kippenhan; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, including his good friend, Jake Hall. Jim was preceded in death by his father, John Kaufman Sr. A Visitation will be held on Friday, March 13, 2009 from 4:00 PM until 6 PM, concluding with a brief celebration of his life at 6 PM.
