Obituary
Born on February 21,1925 in Neenah, WI to Dr. George W. Loomans and Edna Frances (Remmel) Loomans. Katie graduated from St Mary's High School in Menasha and was a member of the National Honor Society. She also graduated from The College of St. Catherine in St. Paul, Minnesota with a degree in social work and elementary education.
On June 19, 1948 Katie married Donald Edward Ciske at St. Mary's Parish in Menasha. They spent 39 years together until his passing in 1987. Katie taught kindergarten in Sheboygan and Menasha as well as 11 years at Winnebago Day School in Menasha until the school closed in 1970.
After living 7 years in Connecticut for Don's work, they moved back to the Valley in 1980 to the Town that is now Fox Crossing. Katie spent 29 1/2 years volunteering at Theda Clark Hospital until she was forced to retire due to her macular degeneration. She loved her geraniums - saving them from year to year.
Katie was preceded in death by her husband Don, her beloved sister Sue Gibson, her mother and father, and her mother and father in-law Ester and Jack Ciske.
Katie is survived by her brother George J Loomans of Colorado, her two sons Tom (Lois) Ciske of York Montana and Michael Ciske, and her daughter-in-law Toni Ciske (Dave Menozzi). She is further survived by her grandchildren Nathan (Danae) Ciske, Meagan (Bill) Wigchers, Kacie (Rob) Furth, and Jessica Ciske; as well as, great-grandchildren Emilie, Alayna, Olivia, and Isla Wigchers, Mabel Ciske, Lucille Ciske Furth, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The memorial service for Katie will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home, 205 W. Doty Avenue. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9:00 am until the time of the service. She will be laid to rest at St. Margaret Cemetery in Neenah.
