Obituary

With his loving family by his side, SFC (Retired) Fred T. Huebner, Neenah, passed away at Appleton Medical Center on September 15, 2009, at the age of 62. Fred was born on July 5, 1947, at Theda Clark Hospital in Neenah, WI, the son of John and Joan Huebner. Fred attended Austin Peay University in Clarksville, TN, for culinary arts. He served with the U.S. Army for more than 20 years, fighting for his country in the Vietnam War. Fred served in Korea, and he greatly enjoyed being stationed in Germany for half of his military career. For his dedication and service, Fred received many awards and honors. He was also a member of the Army Culinary Arts Team, which was sent all over the world to compete. Fred worked as a chef at the Paper Valley Hotel in Appleton for many years. He had a passion for cooking and was extremely talented at creating delicious dishes. He was a member of the Town of Neenah Fire Dept. where he was a cook and a firefighter. Fred enjoyed playing Sheepshead, spending time at the family cabin, fishing, hunting, and watching his special grandchild at sporting events. He also took great pleasure in going on road trips with Linda, his loving wife of 40 years. Family and friends adored Fred for his sense of humor and good nature. They never had a dull moment around him. Fred was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend and more. He is survived by his wife, Linda (Pyritz) Huebner, their children: Lee Huebner, Aaron Huebner and Heidi (Eric) Hunter; his siblings: Jim (Becky) Huebner, Dave (Jan) Huebner, Mike (Sharon) Huebner, Jean Quinnette, and Connie Huebner; his grandson, Brent Huebner, his grandpup, Jelly Bean Huebner, and many special nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Fred was preceded in death by his parents, John and Joan Huebner, and his father and mother-in-law, Louis and Charlotte Pyritz. The Memorial Service for Fred will be held Friday, September 18, 2009, at 6:00 p.m. at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, 809 S. Commercial Street, Neenah, with the Reverend Catherine A.K. Mode officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be at the church Friday from 4:00 p.m. until the hour of service. Military honors will be conducted after the service by the Fort Leonard Wood Army Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Freds name. The family would like to relay a special thank you to the wonderful staff at Appleton Medical Center, especially the cardiac ICU. Additionally, they thank their family and friends for the love and wonderful support given to them and Fred. Fred will be missed but never forgotten. Base hitscores a runwoo hoo! " Fred
