DORIS BIGALKE

Doris A. Bigalke, age 75, of Neenah, died suddenly on Tuesday, October 6, 2009 after a short illness. She was born on December 31, 1933; daughter of the late Bernet and Etha (Helgeson) Anderson. She was married to Emil J. Bigalke on November 2, 1957; they shared almost 50 loving years together before he preceded her in death. She deeply missed him. Doris worked at the First National Bank before becoming co-owner of the U.S./Canadian Map Service, from which she retired in 1999. She greatly enjoyed traveling, cooking, golfing, and spending time with family and friends. Doris is survived by her children: Dr. Mark Bigalke (Eileen Morgen), Vancouver, WA, Jill Szamocki and children: Thomas (16) and Emily (14), Green Bay, Kay Merkel (Steve), and children: Lydia (18) and Alyssa (16), Omaha, NE. She is further survived by her sister Bette (Clifford) Christensen as well as their children: Ann Malmquist, John Christensen, Chris Christensen, Carole Olson and their families. She is also survived by sisters-in-law: Gertrude Worm, Margaret Bayer, Louise (Elmer) DeGroot, Eleanor Schulz, Ardis Peterson, and Dolores Bigalke. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, October 12, 2009, 11:30 AM, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, 809 S. Commercial Street, Neenah with The Rev. Catherine A.K. Mode officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 8:30 AM until the hour of service.
