MELBA COX

The good Lord recalled one of His angels home today.  Melba Iona Cox, passed away peacefully at Bethel Home in Oshkosh on Friday, October 28, 2016.  She was originally from Neenah/Menasha, where she most recently lived for several years at the Assisi Apartments.

Melba enjoyed collecting various knick knacks like porcelain shoes, dolls, window sill figurines, etc. She enjoyed working as a bartender for 20 years at The Owl Bar, The Star Bar and the Doty Bar, all in the Neenah area.  Melba enjoyed life to the fullest and lived a wonderful life.  She will be greatly missed her family and friends.

Survivors include her daughter, Sue (Keith) Cory; daughter-in-law, Joanne Cox; sister-in-law, Joan Flenz; and many, many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Melba was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Cox; two sons: John and Robert Cox; a grandson, Jeffery Cox; a granddaughter, Beth Merryweather; and her sisters and a brother.

A memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM on Thursday, November 3, 2016, at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home.  The visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until the hour of service. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
