Obituary
Marvin Schleinz, of Neenah, age 84, was born to Eternal Life October 29, 2010. Marvin was born in Antigo, WI June 18, 1926, the eldest of seven children of Frank and Violet (Schoenenberger) Schleinz. He married Rosalind Mahler February 4, 1956 at St. Peter Claver Church in Sheboygan, WI. Marvin was raised through the hard times of the Great Depression, but in a happy and secure household. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy at age 17, serving with the amphibious forces in the South Pacific 1943-46. After his honorable discharge, he completed high school at the same time he attended the University of Wisconsin Extension Center. He graduated from Sheboygans Central High School three weeks after completing his freshman year of college. After earning a Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Marvin was appointed as a federal agent, making national security investigations. He was in sales 15 years for Kohler Company, the last five years of which as the St. Louis district sales office branch manager. This was followed with 20 years in various sales levels with Kimberly-Clark Corporation until his retirement in 1988. Marvin was a faith-filled Roman Catholic throughout his life. He was a Life Member of the Knights of Columbus after having joined in 1956. He served as Grand Knight of the Third Degree " Menasha Nicolet Council 1838, was a Fourth Degree Knight for 32 years, served as Faithful Navigator to the Allouez Assembly Council 1199 in Appleton and was a member of the Honor Guard. Marvin also was a Life Member of V.F.W. Post 2778, Appleton and a past 11-year member of Ridgeway Country Club. Marvin is survived by his wife, sons Alan and Robert (Lisa) Schleinz, grandchildren Abby (Mike) Dion, Mark and fianc Megan Sengstock, all of Appleton, brothers Alvin (Mary Ann) Schleinz, Frank (Rita) Schleinz, sister Joyce (Robert) Dortman. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant brother Gerald, sister Jo Anne, brother Harold and daughter-in-law Mary Ellen Wiczynski. The Mass of the Resurrection will be at St. Gabriel Parish, 900 Geiger St, Neenah on Monday, November 1, 2010 at 11:30 a.m. with Fr. Bob Lexa officiating. The visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until the hour of mass. Burial will be in the family plot in St. Margaret Cemetery in Neenah. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established in his name. The Schleinz family extends their deepest gratitude to the first responders efforts and to the Theda Clark Hospital Emergency Room and Critical Care staff for their compassionate care of Marvin.

Dear Al, I am so sorry to learn about your dad's passing. I only remember meeting him once and I recall him being a very nice gentleman. He certainly must have been a wonderful father. Dear Schleinz Family, my deepest sympathies to you all. I first met Marv when I worked in the KC health center years 20+ years ago. We would exercise together in cardiac rehab and in later years he would stop by to see me after his workouts to chat. He always talked of his family, activities and shared life's lessons. He was so proud of you all! Keep those wonderful memories in your heart.
