DAVID LACHAPELL

David John Lachapell, age 57 of Appleton, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 14, 2012 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Appleton. David was born in Dearborn, Michigan on October 16, 1955 to Joseph and Hilda (Krisch) Lachapell. He was a graduate of Menasha High School in 1973. Dave joined his wife Mary Ellenbecker in marriage on February 17, 2001. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his wife at their land up north, outside of Crandon. He worked at Menasha Packagings Neenah Container Plant for the last 5 years where he made many friends in the period of time he worked there. Dave had a special type of humor; sometimes goofy, sometimes gruff, but always with a big heart, and was always willing to help anyone with a need. He was a dedicated and loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and son. Dave is survived by his wife Mary; son, Dan (Sarah) Lachapell; daughters: Dana (Shane) Buffington; Jessica Ellenbecker; Sara (Travis) Gerrits; and son, Adam (Suzie) Ellenbecker. He is further survived by his mother, Hilda; brothers: Robert (Ruth) Lachapell; Alan (Kris) Lachapell; sisters: Kathy (Wally) Rush; and Elizabeth (Daniel) Schmitzer; and multiple nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, and brothers-in-law. In addition, Dave will be dearly missed by the two special little people in his life, granddaughter Camille Gerrits and Gavin Lindner. David will be joining his father Joseph and his brother-in-law Ron VanderLoop, in his journey into Gods eternal kingdom. The funeral service for Dave will be held Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at 7:00 P.M. at Menasha's Westgor Funeral Home. Friends may visit from 4:00 P.M. until the hour of service. Our family would like to extend our deepest appreciation to the staff at St. Elizabeth Medical Center for the wonderful care given to David. We will forever have a void to fill from losing such an incredible husband, father, son, grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend.
