LAURIE SKOWRONSKI

Laurie Ann Skowronski, 47, of Neenah, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 22, 2012, at home with family and held tightly by her Lord and Savior after a courageous battle with metastatic breast cancer. Laurie was born on the Marine Corps Base at Cherry Point, NC on May 4, 1965 to Leslie and Brenda (Bartels) Scolman. She graduated from Palmyra, WI High School in 1983, and then UW-Milwaukee in 1987. She married Timothy Skowronski on October 20, 1990 and lived in Neenah since. Before her illness, Laurie worked in Customer Service and then Product Planning at Miles Kimball in Oshkosh. She loved travelling to various world destinations, meeting new people and making new discoveries. She enjoyed nature, gardening, taking long walks, and being with her friends and family. Laurie deeply touched the hearts of all she met, with her contagious smile and gracious presence. She always put others ahead of herself, and was a ready and willing listener. The world is a lesser place without her. She is survived by her husband Timothy and daughter Rebecca, her parents Les and Brenda Scolman, her brothers Michael (Rebecca), Greg, and Kevin (Cheryl) Scolman, and 11 nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 4 PM Sunday, December 30, at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Menasha, with a reception following. In lieu of flowers, make donations to Kick It to Cancer, all proceeds going to the UW-Madison Carbone Cancer Center to support breast cancer research.
