LOUIS TORNOW

About 1 Cor 15:6, Louie commented: If 500 people agree on anything, it must be true! Louis Louie Melvin Tornow, age 87 of Neenah, went to sleep Tuesday, January 1, 2013, and is reunited with his wife Evelyn, his brothers Harold Huz and Robert Bob who went before him. Best of all, the Lord has now restored his vision! Enjoy the sights, Dad, now and forevermore! Louie was born May 1, 1925, to the late William and Matilda (Hole) Tornow in Stanley Wisconsin; married October 16, 1948, to Evelyn Ev Reichel. Louie was a longtime member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Neenah. He was also a WWII veteran, having served in the Army overseas in North Africa and Italy. Louie was a founding member of the Neenah Community Band. Survivors include: two daughters: Gail Tornow, Abby and Jeff Lingnofski; two granddaughters: Rebecca and Nate Johnson; Leah Lingnofski and fiance Steve Pellegrini; and his sister, Bertha Bert Koepke. He is further survived by great granddaughter Audrey Evelyn Johnson; in-laws: Fritz and Betty Reichel; Ron and Chris Reichel; many nieces, nephews and friends. A memorial service for Louie will be held Friday, January 11, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, 809 S. Commercial St., Neenah, Rev. Catherine A. K. Mode officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. at church until the hour of service. Inurnment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Neenah Community Band or Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Louies name would be appreciated. Louies family would like to thank his wonderful neighbors, caregivers (Debbie, Tina, Kari, Sandy, and Becky), medical personnel at Theda Clark and Cherry Meadows hospice for their friendship, respect, and loving care. Thank you, as well, to the Department of Veterans Affairs whose provision enabled Louie to remain in his home these last two years.
