JUNE MEVERDEN

June Marie Meverden (nee Zastrow), age 81, passed away peacefully at Theda Clark surrounded by family on January 7, 2013. June was born in Lomira, WI, on June 28, 1931, the daughter of the late Wilmer and Anna Zastrow. June married the late Robert Meverden on August 29, 1953, in Neenah. June went to Milwaukee after high school to study at the Spencerian Business College. She came to Neenah in 1950 because thats where the jobs were. She worked as a bookkeeper for Jewelers Mutual Insurance Company until shortly after she married Robert. June was the family money manager, and when Robert started a home building/remodeling business she was the one who made sure the bills got paid. When Bob began working at the Neenah Eagles, she graciously contributed her time and talents and made many new friends. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and neighbor who enjoyed friends and family and kibitzing around the kitchen table. She was widely known for her desserts and delicious potato salad. She especially enjoyed the holidays and the chaos that ensued when everyone descended on the family home. She will be greatly missed by her children: James (Carol Ann), Jay (Gerri), Joann (Greg) Urbanek, and Jeff (Laura); grandchildren: Cara Meverden, David (Melissa) Meverden, Megan Kutchenriter, Amy Meverden, Eric Meverden, Taylor Coleman, Gabriel Meverden and Noah Meverden. She was also predeceased by Robert, her husband of 47 years, greatly missed son Jerry Meverden, sister Dorothy Hintz of Marion, WI, and brother Roger Zastrow of Lomira. The Funeral service for June will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Faith United Methodist Church, 1025 Tullar Road, Neenah, with Revs. Tim Albrecht and Martin Ruge officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday evening, January 11, from 6:00p.m. until 8:00p.m. at Neenahs Westgor Funeral Home, and again on Saturday morning, from 9:00a.m. until the hour of service, directly at the church.
