JAMES KOCH

James R. Koch, of Menasha, age 61, passed away Thursday, April 1, 2010 following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born August 27, 1948 in Stanley, WI, son of the late Marvin and Annette (Cooley) Koch. Jim married Judith Casey on February 14, 1998. She preceded him in death in 2007. Jim served in the US army being stationed in Germany. He retired from Valley Packaging Industry. Jim was an avid fisherman and hunter; he enjoyed spending time at his cottage on Mirror Lake in Goodman. Survivors include two step-children: Daniel (Patti) Parker, Tim (Sandra) Parker; eight step-grandchildren: Casey, Camille, Justin, Ashley Kayla, Mike (Marcia), Doug (Leanne) and Lisa (Jason); six step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Karen (Hunter) Hofmann; a brother, Gerald Koch; two sisters-in-law: Sandi (Steven) LaDuke, Mary Jane Schmidt; three nieces and nephews: Kelly Hofmann, Danica (John) Place, Wendy Skebba. The funeral service will be held at Menashas Westgor Funeral Home on Saturday, April 10, 2010, at 5:00 PM with the Rev. Hunter Hofmann officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 2:00 PM until the hour of service. Interment will follow in St. Marys Cemetery in Kaukauna. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established for Theda Care at Home Hospice, the American Cancer Society or the Winnebago County Humane Association. The family would like to thank the volunteers; CNAs and Nurses of ThedaCare at Home Hospice for all their wonderful care of Jim. God grant that I may live to fish, Until my dying day, And when it comes to my last cast, I then most humbly pray, When in the Lords safe landing net, Im peacefully asleep, That in His mercy I be judged, As good enough to keep.
