FRANCIS BROWN

Francis T. Brown, age 90, of Neenah, passed away peacefully Monday, April 5, 2010. He was born January 23, 1920 in Escanaba, MI to the late John and Ann (Eli) Brown. He married Elaine Derocher on February 10, 1955. Francis was a decorated World War II Veteran, receiving the American Theater Service Medal, a Good Conduct Medal, the Asiatic-Pacific Theater Service Medal, and a Distinguished Unit Badge as a member of the United States Army Air Corps as well as the Merchant Seamen. After the military, Francis worked as a brakeman/conductor for the Soo Line Railroad where he witnessed two generations of engine types: steam engines and diesel engines. He retired in 1982 and was proud of his 28 years of retirement after all of his hard work. Francis is survived by three sons: Thomas (Joan) Brown and their sons Nicholas and Nathan; Patrick (Beth) Brown; and Edward (Karie) Brown and their daughter Stephanie. He is further survived by a daughter Linda (Ben) Gawaresky and their sons David and Steven; a step-daughter Judy (Donald) Moore and their family; a brother, Lloyd (Carol) Brown; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 40 years, Elaine; a brother, Edward; and two sisters: Lorraine and Verna. Friends may call at Neenahs Westgor Funeral Home Thursday, April 8, 2010 from 4:00 P.M. until 7:30 P.M. Entombment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Shrine of Heaven Mausoleum.
