RUTH ROSENTHAL

Ruth H. Rosenthal, age 89, of Neenah, passed away Thursday, April 8, 2010, at her home. She was born May 29, 1920, in the town of Neenah, the daughter of Guy and Dagmar (Hanson) Evans. Ruth graduated from Neenah High School in 1938, and was married to Erwin Rosenthal on June 14, 1941. She worked at Menasha Printing Ink Co. (division of Marathon) from 1938 until 1941. In 1952, Ruth became the manager of Montgomery-Ward Catalog Store in Neenah until she retired in 1972. She enjoyed bowling, dancing, gardening, card playing, and especially spending time with her granddaughters and great -grandchildren. Ruth will be sadly missed by her daughter, Shirley (Elwyn) Long, Oshkosh; her son, Richard (Johanna) Rosenthal, Green Bay; three granddaughters, Christine (Rodney) Dietzen, Oshkosh, Dawn (Robert) Willems, Suamico, and Debbie (John) Kleuskens, DePere; a step granddaughter, Tina (Scott) Thums, Omro; five great -grandchildren, Taylor and Kelsey Willems, Evan and Walker Dietzen, and Chloe Kleuskens; two step great-grandchildren, Holley and Kenneth Thums. She is further survived by two sisters-in-law, Lorraine Rosenthal and Esther Evans, and many wonderful nieces and nephews, especially Donna (Haldeman) and Tom Schinner, Brookfield. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a sister, Nina Haldeman, four brothers, Earl, John, Howard, and Raymond Evans; sisters-in-law, Irene Evans, Verna Evans, Ruth Evans, Janet Wesner, Bernice Ruscher, and Norma Bodden; and brothers-in-law, Walter Haldeman, Orville Ruscher, Bernie Bodden, Arnie Wesner, and Wilmer Rosenthal. Ruth was the last member of the Evans family. The Funeral Service for Ruth will be Monday, April 12, 2010, at 12:00 p.m. at Neenahs Westgor Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. Monday until the hour of the service at the funeral home. Private family committal will be at the Brooks Cemetery, town of Vinland. A memorial fund in Ruths honor is being established. Special thanks to Sandy Gauger and Sandy Arps for all their care, food, and visits to Ruth, and a heartfelt thank you to all the staff at Villa Saint Clare for their loving care and concern given to Ruth.
