STANLEY NIELSEN

Stanley Einar Nielsen, 84, 4100 N. Mountain Road, Wausau, formerly of Neenah, passed away early Wednesday, May 5, 2010. Stan was born February 16, 1926 in Neenah, the son of Einar Nielsen and Flora (Rasmussen) Nielsen (Myers). He graduated from Neenah High School in 1944. Stan proudly served in the Army during World War II in Europe. On May 22, 1948 he married his high school sweetheart, Marjory R. Kuehl. Stan managed Twin City Cleaners in Neenah for Gunderson Cleaners for many years before retiring. Stan enjoyed woodworking, playing cribbage, and weekends at Loon Lake in Shawano County with family and friends, helping others with projects, and traveling. Despite all he went through in recent years, Stan never lost his sense of humor. Stan is survived by his wife of nearly 62 years, Marjory, Wausau; his son, Todd (Evie), Wausau; his grandchildren, Sarah, Minneapolis, and Eric, Wausau; his brother, Harold (Bonn), Louisville, KY; and nephews, Michael (Lisa), Greenville, SC and Jon (Lisa), Murfreesboro, TN and their families. Stan was preceded in death by his parents, Einar and Flora; his stepfather, Grover Myers; and his brother, Donald (Shirley). A memorial service will be held at Neenahs Westgor Funeral Home at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 13, 2010, with The Rev. Catherine A.K. Mode officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday from 3:00 p.m. until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be sent in Stanleys honor to Our Saviors Lutheran Church, Neenah, or St. Andrew Lutheran Church, Wausau.
