JEROME CISKE

Jerome Jay L. Ciske, Appleton, formerly of Menasha, age 88, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 25, 2009, at Theda Clark Medical Center. He was born on December 31, 1920 in the town of Harrison; son of the late Roman and Kathryn (Hensghn) Ciske. Jay was married to Arlene Kolberg for 67 years. He was a Menasha resident for most of his life and a member of St. Marys Catholic Church of Menasha. Jay served in the U S Army and was a Veteran of WWII; he served under General George Patton with the 9th Armored Division. He was a POW in Germany and he received the Purple Heart. Jay was a former employee of ALCAN (American Can) and a member of the POWs of America. He had a passion for his garden and never went a day without his cigar. Jay is survived by his wife Arlene, Appleton; daughter Antoinette Bukowski, Germantown; son: Jerome (Lynn) Ciske, Jr., Menasha; Daryl (Pat) Ciske, Neenah, Kenneth (Ann) Ciske, Sherwood, Jeff (Lynne) Ciske, Neenah; 8 grandchildren: Adam, Ben, Brandon Ciske, Michelle (Mark) Thompson, Amy (Marty) Miller, Chris Ciske, Stanley (Johanna) Ciske, Marie (Jesse) Clark; 6 great-grandchildren: Wyatt and Bailey Thompson, Chance Miller, Calvin Ciske, Jenna and Tyler Clark; he is further survived by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Ciske and sister, Norma Koleske. There will be a PRIVATE Memorial Service. Inurnment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Sherwood.
