Obituary
Betty Klapps, 76, of Neenah, passed away Wednesday, July 14, 2010, at Vallhaven Care Center. Betty was born December 11, 1933, in Neenah, the daughter of Herman and Adeline (Schumann) Bengel. She married Reuben Klapps on May 25, 1957, in Neenah. He preceded her in death on August 4, 1994. Betty was a loving mother and grandmother and for the past several years she has lived at Vallhaven Care Center. She loved her home there and will be missed by everyone. Bettys favorite was playing bingo and cards. Survivors include her daughter and sons: Linda (Rick) Lindsey, Brian (Lori) Klapps, Mike (Lynn) Klapps, and Reuben Klapps, Jr., all of Menasha; and there are eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, her daughter Susan, three sisters, and two brothers. The Funeral Service for Betty will be Saturday, July 17, 2010, 11:00 a.m. at Faith United Methodist Church, Neenah, with Rev. Mary Council-Austin officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. until the hour of the service at the church. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff at Vallhaven for their wonderful care given to Mom.

I have had the pleasure of knowing Betty for several years. I also knew her sisters, Florence & Alice & their husbands, Gilbert & Ralph. When Betty was diagnosed with breast cancer over 5 years ago, the Dr's gave her only 6 months to live, & each year we celebrated the Dr's being wrong! I will miss Betty selling freshly made cookies & being "Betty Hairnetty!" I will also miss her help with the many, many bake sales & raffles we've had over the years! Mostly I will miss teasing her about "gambling" when she played her almost daily rounds of sheephead. Betty, I will miss your smiling face & your giggle when I teased you! I know God holds a special place for you, & I will miss you until we meet again!

My prayers and thoughts go out to Bettys family. Betty was part of the vallhaven family and everyone here is extremely grateful to have known her she was a true gem her smile and that sparkle in her eye could lite up a room. We will all miss her each and every day. God Bless
