MARTIN KUETHER

Martin N. Kuether, Oshkosh, age 89, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, July 18, 2010. He was born February 1, 1921 in Neenah, son of the late Arthur and Irma (Wieckert) Kuether. Martin served in the US Army Air Corps during WWII from 1941-1945. After his time in the service he attended Lawrence University and then joined the family business, Wieckert Lumber. Martin was then employed with Utschig Imperial as a project manager in Wisconsin and other states. In 1996 he married Marilyn Doughty. Martin was baptized and confirmed as an adult at Peace Lutheran Church of Neenah where he became a member and served on the Board of Trustees. Martin helped design the church cross and tower and also helped design the cross and tower at St. Marks Lutheran Church in Neenah. Martin enjoyed traveling and spending time in Door County. He also enjoyed fishing trips to Boyds in Fifield, WI. Survivors include his wife; Marilyn; three children: Karl Kuether (Gerry Delengowski) , Andy Kuether, Jenny Beckman; their mother, Mimi Eldredge; four grandchildren: Kelly (Kim) Kuether, John Kuether, Devan Kuether, Myles Beckman; two great-grandchildren: Cody and Cheyanne Kuether; and two nephews: Tom Biebow, Jim (Helen) Biebow; and a sister-in-law, Dorthy Riley Biebow. Martin was preceded in death by two sisters: Emily Kuether and Peggy Biebow; and a brother-in-law, Ken Biebow. The funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 22, 2010, at Peace Lutheran Church, 1228 S. Park Ave., Neenah, with The Rev. Ronald Meier officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established for the church and the Salvation Army.
