DOROTHY MARKEL

Dorothy J. Markel, 92, formerly of Neenah, entered into eternal rest with the Lord on Sunday morning, August 15, 2010 in Port Charlotte, Florida. She was born in Neenah on June 1, 1918, daughter of the late John and Bernice (Zemlock) Jones. On June 4, 1946 she married Franklin Markel who preceded her in death on May 12, 1998. She was employed as a secretary at Kimberly Clark, and is a former Member of Whiting Baptist Church. Dorothy was a Neenah resident for most of her life and split time between Wisconsin and Florida after retirement. She will be sadly missed by her children: Maureen (Tom) Falls, Trenton, SC, John (Theresa) Markel, Saraland, AL; her grandchildren: Scott (Marsha) Day, Tara Ann Markel; great grandchildren: Makayla Lenz, Brady Scott Day; and special friend: Maynard Hamilton. In addition to her husband, Frank, she was preceded in death by her brother, Harold Jones. The Funeral Service for Dorothy will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at Neenahs Westgor Funeral Home with the Rev. David Eisley officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
