LEON GRUNDMAN

Leon A. Grundman, age 75, passed away on Wednesday morning, August 25, 2010 at Theda Clark Medical Center. He was born on March 3, 1933 in Menasha, son of the late Harvey and Martha (Schilling) Grundman. After High School Leon proudly served his country with the United States Army. After his service he fell in love with Lois Simpson of Appleton and the two were married on April 19, 1958 at St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Menasha. Lois preceded Leon in death on February 5, 2007. The couple owned and operated a dairy farm, and both were faithful members of St. Marks Lutheran Church in Neenah. Leon was a family man and a hard worker. Earlier in life he enjoyed boating, motorbiking, and hunting, but most recently he got the most enjoyment spending time with his children and grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by his son, Brian (Cheryl) Grundman, Neenah; grandchildren: Anne (Andy) Naylor, Eric Grundman, Makayla Grundman; great-grandchildren: Mallory Naylor and Jaeda Lind; brother, Robert (Audrey) Grundman, Neenah; sister, Rae Harvey, Rocky Mountain, NC; sister-in-law, Carol Gutowski, Appleton. In addition to his parents and his loving wife, Lois, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Cynthia Lou Palmer, and brother, Harvey Jr. The funeral service for Leon will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2010 at 4:00 P.M. at St. Marks Lutheran Church with the Rev. Stephen Dietzler officiating. Friends will be received at the church from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of service. Full Military Honors will be performed at the church immediately following the service. Entombment will be in the Star of Hope Mausoleum at Highland Memorial Park in Appleton. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in his name.
