MARIAN ERNST

Appleton – Marian Helen (nee Staffeld) Ernst, 90, was called home to Jesus on Sunday, December 8, 2024. She was born on May 26, 1934, the daughter of Henry and Eliza Staffeld, in Neenah, WI. Marian lived most of her life in the Fox Valley, graduating from Neenah High School in 1952. She was united in marriage to the late Lyle Ernst at Trinity Lutheran Church, Neenah, on May 28, 1955. They went on to have 3 children, and were blessed with almost 40 years of marriage. Marian was a Badger and Packer fan to the end. In her spare time, she enjoyed doing word searches.

Marian is survived by her three children: Steven (Heidi) Ernst, Debra (James) Leslie, Julie (Mark) Connelly; six grandchildren: Matthew Ernst, Melissa (Tim) Adamany, Lindsay Ernst, Adam (Azela) Ernst, Sarah (Scott) Ely, Amanda (Patrick) Fitzmorris; 11 great-grandchildren with number12 due in February ‘25; a special nephew Gary (Karen) Jenkel; other nieces, nephews, and many friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband Lyle; four brothers: Kenneth, Harrison, John, Clarence; one sister Edna.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Monday, December 16, 2024, at Mount Olive Evangelical Lutheran Church, 930 E Florida Ave, Appleton, WI 54911, with Rev. Joel Zank officiating. A visitation will be held from 9:00am until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution is appreciated to Mount Olive Evangelical Lutheran Church, Appleton.

Marian's family would like to extend a special thank you to the caring staff at Primrose Retirement Community of Appleton, WI. Marian's earthly struggles are gone; she is at peace and home for Christmas.
