DOROTHY FREDERICKSEN

Dorothy Mae “Shortie” Fredericksen, age 95, died peacefully on March 4, 2021 with the caring support of Aseracare Hospice at an assisted living facility in Appleton, Wisconsin.  Dorothy was born on September 1,1925,

in Marinette Wisconsin, the daughter of Clara and Walter Minzloff.  After Dorothy graduated from high school the family moved to Appleton, WI where she met her husband, Byron “Fred” Fredericksen. Dorothy and Byron were married in 1955.  She was employed by Voith Paper until her retirement.  Dorothy resided on Breezewood Lane, Neenah until her move to assisted living in 2020.

Dorothy was a fun-loving and spirited woman who was loved by her family and friends.  She was an avid bowler, a long time Elks Member and enjoyed entertaining family and friends.  Dorothy and Byron shared adventures and memories with many, including in the air, on the water, traveling across the country and at home.  They had a truly “open door” policy, welcoming friends into their home any time of day. She was always up for a few laughs and was the ultimate hostess. Dorothy was a warm and loving woman whose friendship touched the lives of many.  She will be missed by everyone who knew her.

Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Byron, her parents, her in-laws, and her brothers; Robert, George, and Walter Minzloff.

Dorothy is survived by numerous extended family; cousins, nieces, and nephews, as well as the Mary and George Sturm family who were her dear friends and neighbors for many years

Due to Covid precautions there will be no funeral service, we encourage you to take a moment at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 20, to raise a glass and toast Dorothy.
