RALPH STAHL,

Marty Stahl, age 68, passed away at his home in Menasha, on Saturday, May 18, 2013, with his loving family by his side, after having fought a courageous five year battle with Chordoma, a rare form of cancer. He was truly one in a million. He was born March 15, 1945, in Neenah, to the late Ralph and Ada (Carow) Stahl. Marty graduated from Menasha High School in 1963. He retired from the George Banta Company after 40 years of employment. On October 22, 1966, Marty married Kristin Jensen at St. Timothy Ev. Lutheran Church in Menasha. They were blessed with two wonderful sons, Brian and Mark. Martys hobbies included hunting, snowmobiling (he won the Central WI Speed Runs Series High Point Championship and was proud to support his son, Brian, in his snowmobile racing,) pleasure boating, and his lifelong passion of boat racing which began by following in his fathers footsteps. Marty W-8 began racing as a young boy and went on to win state and national hydroplane high point championships. In later years he enjoyed being the Crew Chief for his son, Mark, and special family friend, J. P. Jedwabny. He was a mentor to many young people and friend to all. Marty is survived by Kris, his wife of 46 years; his sons, Brian (Tracey) of Shawano, WI, and Mark (Lisa and Rex) of Menasha, WI; his sisters, Ann (Larry) Wright of Osprey, FL, and Susan (Gary) Wyhoski, of Menasha, WI; sister-in-law, Karen Radtke of Appleton, WI; and brother-in-law, Paul (Karla) Jensen, Winneconne, WI. He is also survived by many special cousins, nieces, nephews, and numerous close friends and neighbors, including the Jedwabny Family and his entire boat racing family throughout the U.S. A memorial service for Marty will be held at 12:00 NOON, Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at St. Timothy Ev. Lutheran Church, 473 7th St., Menasha, Rev. David Skarsten officiating. Visitation will be held at church from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service. Inurnment will be at Bell Cemetery, Winneconne. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The Chordoma Foundation, P. O. Box 2127, Durham, NC 27702; St. Timothy Ev. Lutheran Church; or a charity of your choice. Martys family is grateful for the excellent care provided to him by the Carbone Cancer Center at UW Madison; Dr. Robert Kohl and staff at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton; and the Affinity Hospice Team.
