KAREN KEMPS

Karen A. Kemps, of Neenah, age 71, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 20, 2013. She was born September 27, 1941, in Neenah, daughter of the late Herman and Zela (Wendler) Schwartzkopf. Karen married Ralph Kemps on November 12, 1983. He preceded her in death on January 25, 2013. Karen waitressed for many years at The Grog in Menasha and most recently worked at the Valley VNA in Neenah. Karen enjoyed reading and watching Soap Operas and she loved spending time with her grandchildren and family cookouts. Survivors include her three children: Kathryn (Dale) Howard, Larsen, John Arps, Oshkosh, Michael Arps and his fianc, Beth Kestell, Oshkosh; three step-children: MariPat (Mark) Franke, Neenah, Kevin (Ann Voges) Kemps, Neenah, Adam (Cindy) Schaefer Kemps, Menasha; six grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law: Bonnie Schwartzkopf, Nancy Schwartzkopf; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Karen was preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children, John Butch Arps; as well as two brothers: Norman and Richard Schwartzkopf. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM on Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at Neenahs Westgor Funeral Home. The visitation will be held from 2:00 PM until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established in her name.
