ANITA DUBOIS

Anita L. DuBois, 54, Neenah, died unexpectedly on Saturday, January 9, 2010 at Theda Clark Medical Center, Neenah. She was born on May 3, 1955, daughter of Konrad and Leona Kraus, on Long Island, NY. Anita graduated from Huntington (NY) High School, and the State University of New York at Oneonta. She received her MBA from City University of New York, where she met her future devoted husband, Ray. With a sharp eye and gift for all things quantitative, Anita and Ray began their lifelong partnership there, as her talents helped them both through all the courses with "numbers" and Ray assisted with all the courses with "words." Anita is survived by her husband, Ray; teenaged children: a son Patrick and daughter Megan, at home; a brother, Gerhard (Linda) Kraus in Ohio; sister Ellen Kraus and brother-in-law Craig Leininger in Nevada; a niece, Hilary Kraus in Florida; sister-in-law, Jane DuBois in Massachusetts; three very special best friends: Kathy Knott, Kris Powley, and Karen Rappl, all of Neenah; and many more friends and co-workers. A women of intelligence and class, at the time of her death she was business manager at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Parish, Greenville. Over the years she served in that same role at St. Gabriel Parish, Neenah and St. Bernard Parish, Appleton. She had been temporary administrator for St. Nicholas Catholic School, Freedom. Prior to moving to Wisconsin, Anita was vice president at CIGNA Syndicate Managers, New York, and consultant to the Office of the Special Deputy Receiver, Chicago. Anita's entire life revolved around her family, and her children. She was a proud mom who constantly put her children's activities and needs above her own. From cub scout den mother to home/school president to armchair waterskiing instructor to kids' sports fan to mock trial mom, she believed strongly in her God-given vocation to raise the best children possible grounded in service and their Catholic faith. She succeeded admirably. She was a compassionate woman with a wonderful sense of humor, beautiful smile, an accomplished baker and cook, especially holiday turkey dinners with all the trimmings. Anita loved pets, as long as they lived in someone else's home. Her husband will miss her warm, strong love, humor and the practicality that constantly kept the family in balance. She was preceded in death by her parents. The visitation will be held from 4:00 until 8:00 PM on Wednesday at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home with a Vigil Service at 7 p.m. led by Deacon Ray & Cathy Ambrosius. Visitation will continue at St. Gabriel Catholic Community, 900 Geiger St., Neenah, from 9:30- 11:30 AM followed by the Mass of Christian Burial. Concelebrants at Anita's joyous celebration of her Catholic faith will be Bishop Robert Morneau, Father Mark Vander Steeg, Father Richard Allen, and Father Paul Demuth. Deacon Don Ropson will be Deacon of the Mass. Following a luncheon at St. Gabriel's, burial will be at St. Mary of the Immaculate Heart Parish Cemetery, Greenville. Recognizing Anita's strong belief in the value of Catholic education, in lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Anita's name to the ACES Xavier Educational Angel Fund, Appleton, or the TCCES Educational Foundation, Neenah. The family wishes to thank members of the Neenah Police Department First Responders, Gold Cross ambulance crew, Victim Crisis Response Team, and the trauma team at Theda Clark Medical Center. We are overwhelmed with thankfulness and praise for the outpouring of support from our family, friends, co-workers, and the diaconate community of the Diocese of Green Bay.
