DOROTHY GORE

Dorothy L. (Vosburg) Gore passed away peacefully at Westbrook Manor in Oshkosh on April 17, 2015 with her family by her side. She was born September 2, 1920 in the Town of Vinland, the daughter of Chester and Zella Vosburg. Dorothy worked for several years as a housekeeper for Samuel Pickard and family. On June 25, 1946, she married Leonard F. Gore, who preceded her in death on August 15, 2010. Like her sisters, she loved cooking as well as gardening, canning, and making latch-hook rugs for gifts. She enjoyed traveling with family and friends and also liked snowmobiling with her husband and family. She loved family gatherings and playing Sheephead and was a lifelong member of Allenville Baptist Church. Dorothy will be deeply missed by her daughter, Kathy Gore, as well as many nieces and nephews, and special friends, Steve Lenz and Linda Kehl. Dorothy was the last member of the Vosburg family, having been preceded in death by her parents; and siblings: Hazel (Tisdale) Furman; Ruth (Roydon) Schultz; Dean (Ethel) Vosburg; Isabel (Harry) Lautenschlager; Jeanette (Ernie) Wismer; Mary (Roy) Haase; and Carolyn (Earl) Pomasl. The funeral service for Dorothy will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. until the hour of service. Special thanks to the staff of Westbrook Manor for all the years of great care they provided for Dorothy. Thanks also to the staff of Generations Hospice for helping make her final days comfortable.
