Obituary

Leland “Lee” F. Goodman, age 86 of Neenah, WI and The Villages, FL, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on March 13, 2016. He was born March 19, 1929 to Frank E. and Augusta (Otto) Goodman in Milwaukee, WI and lived his early childhood in Chicago. The family moved to Gresham, WI in 1937 and to Appleton, WI in 1943. He married Jorraine Kuehl on July 26, 1952 at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church in Readfield, WI. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, spending seventeen months overseas. Upon his return, he was employed by Kimberly-Clark of Neenah in Research and Engineering for 39 years, retiring in 1991. He was a member of the Quarter Century Club; Post 33 of the American Legion in Neenah; and Post 347 in Lady Lake, FL. Lee built a cottage which family and friends enjoyed for 30 years. He then bought a second home in The Villages, FL where he and his wife spent their winters.

Lee was an active member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Neenah, WI serving on the church council. He ushered for many years and was an Associate member of Hope Lutheran Church in The Villages, FL. He volunteered for Habitat and Rawhide in WI and went on bus trips with his church, helping people in need due to storm damage.

Lee is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jorraine; and four sons and their wives: Steven (Pati); Rob (Cathy); daughter-in-law, Peggy, all of Neenah; Kevin (Linda), Appleton; and Tim, Olathe, KS. He is further survived by 13 grandchildren: Marc; Michael (Lauren); David; Jonathan; Nicole; Lance; Amber; Jessica; Andrew (Abbie); Meghan; Colin; Alex (Kelly); and Adam (Julie); as well as three great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Also surviving are two brothers: Charles (Beverly) and Glenn (Lee Ann); and two sisters: Ruth (Ed) Klitzke and Sharon (Pat) Nachtway; as well as two brothers-in-law: Orlin (Marilyn) Kuehl and Marlin (Audrey) Kuehl; and two sisters-in-law: Carol Goodman and Carol Toepke. He was preceded in death by his son, Brian; a sister Rita (Earl) Schroeder; two brothers: Donald and Lloyd; and a brother-in-law, Arden Toepke.

The funeral service for Lee will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, March 18, 2016 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 809 S. Commercial St., Neenah, Rev. Catherine A.K. Mode officiating. A visitation will be held at church from 9:00 A.M. until the hour of service. Entombment will be in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Lee's name.

Lee's family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors and staff of Fox Valley Hematology and Oncology, specifically Dr. Gremminger and her team, as well as Affinity Visiting Nurses for their care and compassion throughout his illness.
