Obituary
Bettyrose Skafte, Neenah, age 87, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Friday, October 02, 2009. She was born August 31, 1922, in Wausau; daughter of the late Paul and Helen (Gosch) Zimmer. Bettyrose attended UW-Madison and then graduated from Nursing School at Columbia Hospital in Milwaukee. Bettyrose married Roy Skafte on December 19, 1945 in Wausau. He preceded her in death on December 25, 1982. Bettyrose was a member of Grace Lutheran Church of Winchester and she did volunteer work with Theda Clark Medical Center in their gift shop. Survivors include four daughters: Diane (Peter) Pfaehler, Englewood, FL, Mary Dick, Waukesha, Jane (Peter Allen) Skafte, Charlottesville, VA, Wendy (Karl) Bachmann, Surprise, AZ; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 6, 2009, at Grace Lutheran Church of Winchester, Larsen, Wisconsin, with Pastor Dan L. Luett officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 AM until the hour of service. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established in her name for the church.
