Obituary

Milton A. Grundy, age 94 of Menasha, died Sunday morning at a local assisted living facility due to vascular dementia. He was born on June 20, 1920 to the late James and Alvina Grundy in Oshkosh, and married Lorraine Kuester on September 27, 1941. After 71 years of marriage, she preceded him in death on March 1, 2013. After marriage, Milt joined the Army/Air Force for three years and was a proud veteran of WWII. He was drafted as a radar mechanic and stationed in India and China until he began working on a B29 Strategic Bomber, which moved him to the Pacific Islands of Saipan and Tinian. After the war, Milt worked for Kimberly-Clark at the Lakeview Mill for 42 years. He enjoyed fishing, bowling and sports, and was also a Grand Noble of the Neenah/Menasha Odd Fellows Lodge. Milt is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Terry Sullivan, Menasha; sons: John Grundy, Menasha; and James Grundy and his special friend, Rose Migos, Minocqua; as well as a special nephew, Bruce Kuester, Neenah. A funeral service for Milt will be held at 4:30 P.M. on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at Congregational United Church of Christ, 1511 Nicolet Blvd., Neenah/Menasha, Rev. Lynne Spencer-Smith officiating. A visitation will take place at the church on Thursday from 2:00 P.M. until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be established in his name. "Dad, You showed us to never give up with ill and keep on going. You sure were strong. Also, you helped others when you could. May you rest in peace and be with Mom. Your loving daughter, Jeannie."
