ANN OLSON

Ann Elkington Olson, age 85, of Neenah, WI, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 11, 2013. Ann was born on September 21, 1927, in Amarillo, TX, to parents, Harold Vale Elkington and Ruth Speck Elkington. Ann graduated from Amarillo High School in 1946 and attended the University of Wisconsin, Madison, forming lifelong friendships as a member of Kappa Delta Sorority. Ann graduated in 1950 with a major in Home Economics and a minor in Chemistry. Ann married Jayme B. Olson on May 1st, 1951 at Saint Andrews Episcopal Church in Amarillo. They moved to the Wausau area where Ann worked as a chemist in the research labs for Marathon Corporation. In 1959, the family moved to Neenah, WI. Ann was an active member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Menasha. She enjoyed travel with Jayme and family, her bridge clubs, cooking, sewing, needlework, gardening, and painting. Ann is survived by her husband, Jayme; daughter Penny (John) Koppinger, Bloomfield Hills, MI; son Kenneth (Mary) Olson, Eagan, MN; and granddaughters Kelsey Koppinger, Chicago, IL; and Kara Koppinger, New York, NY. She was preceded in death by her parents. Anns life will be celebrated with an 11 a.m. service on Saturday, February 16, 2013, at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Menasha, officiated by Rev. Ralph Osborne. Anns loving and caring ways will be missed by all who knew her. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend. The family wishes to thank the caring staff and volunteers at ThedaCare Hospice Home of Appleton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Community Hospice Foundation, Appleton, WI.
