LORRAINE GRUNDY

Lorraine C. Grundy, of Menasha, age 93, passed away at Oakridge Gardens Nursing Center on Friday, March 1, 2013, following a brief illness. She was born July 18, 1919, in Neenah, daughter of the late John and Lydia (Handgartner) Kuester. Lorraine graduated from Menasha High School. She then enrolled in beautician school and worked as a beautician in Menasha. Lorraine married Milton Grundy on September 27, 1941. She volunteered with the Red Cross for many years and enjoyed her craft club, bowling and gardening. Lorraine was a very caring person and liked helping others, especially some of her neighbors. She was a member of the Congregational United Church of Christ of Neenah/Menasha, and the Menasha Historical Society. Survivors include her husband, Milton; a daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Terry Sullivan, Menasha; two sons: John Grundy, Menasha, Jim Grundy and his special friend, Rose Migas, Woodruff, WI; a special nephew, Bruce Kuester; and numerous other nieces, nephews and other relatives. Lorraine was preceded in death by nine brothers; two sisters; and a niece, Sally Kuester. The funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 7, 2013, at the Congregational United Church of Christ of Neenah/Menasha, 1511 Nicolet Blvd., Neenah, with the Rev. Lynne Spencer-Smith officiating. The visitation will be held at the church from 2:00 p.m. until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established in her name. Dear Mom, You were strong for a little person. We liked your sense of humor. When you were sick, you cared about other people, Jean and John took good care of you for years. We will miss you.
