Obituary
Amelia M. Walters, Emmy , of Neenah, age 82, passed away unexpectedly at home on Friday, March 1, 2013. She was born June 12, 1930 in Ladysmith, WI, daughter of the late Charles and Stella (Holewa) Heiny. Amelia graduated from Ladysmith High School. She married Walter Walters on June 17, 1950, in Ladysmith, and they settled in Neenah in 1950. Amelia enrolled in beautician school and then opened her own shop, Don el Beauty Salon in Neenah. She was then an instructor at the City of Cosmetology School in Appleton for many years. Survivors include her husband, Walter; three children: Arthur (Sherry) Walters, Susan Walters, Edward (Patsy) Walters; three grandsons: Chad Walters, Eric (Erin) Walters, Timothy Walters; four great-grandchildren: Allyson, Everett, Macy and Easton; and a sister, Ellen Heiny. Amelia was preceded in death by her two brothers: Chester and Edward Heiny; and a sister, Genevieve Mikula. The Walters family would like to give special thanks to the Neenah police and fire departments and gold cross paramedics. Per the request of Amelia there will be no service held.

We kept on contact for many years after I graduated from IBA City College of Cosmetology in Appleton, WI USA. She was my favorite teacher there. We’d meet for coffee & lunch in Neenah, WI USA. Both of us owned & drove a blue Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme. We never exchanged telephone numbers & it was before cellphones. Before internet, so no email exchanges. We would send each other birthday cards & holiday cards. Today I had a brainstorm to see if there was an obituary where I could send a message & voila! My sincerest condolences 💐 for family, friends, relatives, colleagues, acquaintances, students, clients,… everyone who was ever in contact with her. Truly missed & always fondly remembered. I was Sherry Hintz while a student of hers in cosmetology college, living near Kaukauna, WI USA with an Appleton, WI USA address & engaged to be married. She was unable to attend my wedding, sadly.
