MARCELLA BECHER

Marcella Dorothy Becher, nee Damms, 98, died Tuesday November 8, 2011 at her home at Island Shores Assisted Living, Neenah. Marcy was born on March 20, 1913 in Appleton, daughter of the late Edward and Margaret (Schultz) Damms. Marcy graduated from Appleton High School in 1930. She married George Becher in Oct. 1933, and the union was blessed with one son and one daughter. They moved to Menasha in 1938. Marcy was employed by Montgomery Ward and American Can in the clerical departments. Marcy was a member of St. Timothys Lutheran Church in Menasha. Marcy loved to collect antiques and was a member of Chefs Club for years. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Marcy is survived by her son, David (Kathy) Becher; son-in-law, Jack Carstens; four grandchildren: Doreen Carstens, Michelle (Toby) Formiller, William (Jennifer) Carstens, T.J. (Dannielle) Becher, and six great-grandchildren: Kyle Becher, Trent Formiller, Carter Formiller, Maci Formiller, Jaeden Carstens, and Jack Carstens. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of sixty years, George Edward Becher, and her daughter, Linda Carstens. A memorial service for Marcy will be held Friday November 11, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Timothys Lutheran Church, Menasha with Rev. David Skarsten officiating. Friends will be received at the church from 10:30 a.m. until the hour of service. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton.
