JOSEPH VIOTTO

Joseph H. Viotto, of Menasha, age 97, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, November 8, 2011. He was born June 2, 1914 in Appleton, son of the late Henry and Mary (Tennie) Viotto. Joe married Ethel Lickert on June 27, 1936 and they were together for 60 years until her passing on January 5, 1997. His children were his pride and joy and he loved spending time with family. Joe loved fishing and hunting and enjoyed 55 years at his cottage on Shawano Lake. Survivors include his eight children: Jim (Shirley) Viotto, Gene (Charlene) Viotto, Beanie (Gary) Malchow, Leanne Viotto, Shirley (Richard) Syring, Joe (Cheri) Viotto, Sue (john) Fink, Beth (Joe) Megna; 36 grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren; and a son-in-law, Gene Paalman. Joe was preceded in death by a daughter, Maryann Paalman; a grandson, Gary Paalman; and two sisters: Lucille Geenen and Agnes Schroeder. The Mass of Resurrection will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2011, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 528 Second St., Menasha, with Fr. Paul Paider officiating. The visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service. Interment will follow in St. Marys Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff of Crestwood Senior Living for the love and compassion given to Joe. Also, a special thanks to Heartland Hospice.
